Sedano's Heiress Closes $13.4M Pinecrest Estate Sale
Magaly Santana, daughter of Sedano's founder Manuel Agustin Herrán, sold her 11,500-square-foot Pinecrest mansion for $13.4 million. The transaction reflects continued strength in South Florida's high-end residential market.
The daughter of Sedano's Supermarkets founder has completed the sale of her Pinecrest estate for $13.4 million, marking another significant transaction in South Florida's robust luxury real estate market.
Magaly Santana and her husband Ernesto Santana parted with their expansive 11,500-square-foot residence at 10101 Southwest 60th Court. The property, which sits on a full acre, features seven bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. Magaly's late father, Manuel Agustin Herrán, established the Hispanic grocery chain that now operates more than 30 locations throughout Florida.
Ernesto Santana brings his own business credentials to the family, having previously owned El Sembrador, a company specializing in frozen food imports and agricultural product distribution. Oliva International now controls that operation.
The Pinecrest mansion hit the market with an asking price approaching $15 million. Cristina Lujan of Brown Harris Stevens Miami handled the listing, while Roberto Morales of Edmond Roberts LLC represented the purchasing party. The buyer's identity remains undisclosed as deed recording has not yet occurred.
Constructed in 2011 on land the Santanas acquired for $1.7 million in 2006, the residence includes premium amenities such as a swimming pool, half-basketball court, bar area, home theater, and elevator system. The sale represents substantial appreciation from the original land purchase price nearly two decades ago.
Sedano's continues operating under family leadership, with Magaly's brother Agustín "Tino" Herrán serving as CEO following their father's death in 2020. The grocery empire includes 32 locations, extending beyond South Florida to two Orlando-area stores. Tino previously made headlines with his own real estate transaction, selling his Miami Beach residence at 7725 Atlantic Way for $35.6 million in 2023, establishing a neighborhood record for Altos del Mar.
Pinecrest has emerged as a focal point for high-value residential transactions. NBA player Jeff Green achieved a $15.5 million sale for his property at 9500 Southwest 61st Court in April. The same residence attracted attention from actress Cameron Diaz and musician Benji Madden during their South Florida property search.
The community's luxury market momentum gained further validation last fall when Trevor L. Taylor and his wife sold their 20,200-square-foot estate at 6555 Southwest 102nd Street for $19.5 million, setting a municipal price record. Taylor had previously pleaded guilty to securities fraud charges.
These transactions underscore Pinecrest's growing appeal among wealthy buyers seeking premium residential options in Miami-Dade County. The community's combination of spacious lots, privacy, and proximity to urban amenities continues attracting high-net-worth individuals and families.
