Miami-founded Dapta announced $6 million in seed funding on October 13 to expand its artificial intelligence sales-agent business. Chingona Ventures led the round, according to the company announcement.
The startup also operates in Scottsdale, Arizona, Refresh Miami reported. Founder Nicolás Rojas started the company after moving to Miami. It now has about 90 South Florida customers, and Florida is its largest US market, according to the publication's October 13 report.
Dapta's product, Dapti, is designed to answer incoming inquiries, qualify prospective customers and arrange appointments. The company says its customer markets include financial-services firms, home-service providers, law firms and insurance brokers.
The current business grew out of a change in direction. Refresh Miami interviewed Rojas about Dapta's shift from no-code tools for technical teams toward products that small-business owners can configure without technical expertise. Sales and marketing professionals at small businesses were among the early users willing to pay for its tools.
Crew Capital, Broom Ventures and Cometa VC participated in the seed round, along with previous investors 500 Global and Fen Ventures. Dapta says it will use the funding for expansion across the United States and Latin America, broader agent capabilities, customer acquisition and team growth.
For South Florida service businesses, the product focuses on a familiar operational task: responding to prospective customers and getting appointments onto the calendar. The funding gives Dapta resources to develop those tools and reach more customers in a market where it already has a reported foothold.
The next milestone is delivery of the announced product and expansion plans. Dapta's funding release gives no rollout deadline.
