Infinity Collective's preliminary plan calls for constructing a 14-story building containing 184 residential apartments, 43,000 square feet of office space, and 42,000 square feet of retail on a 1.4-acre site. The project spans multiple parcels at 1656-1680 Alton Road and 1677 West Avenue in Miami Beach.
The development proposal requires the creation of a new Alton City Center Overlay district to accommodate the project's scale and mixed-use programming. This regulatory framework would establish specific zoning parameters for the assemblage, allowing the developer to proceed with construction under tailored guidelines.
Planning board members expressed reservations about several aspects of the proposal during Tuesday's meeting. Traffic flow emerged as a primary concern, with officials questioning how the addition of nearly 200 residential units and substantial commercial space would impact already congested Alton Road corridors.
