High-Profile Buyers Drive Miami Luxury Home Sales
French banker Olivier Sarkozy, attorney Alex Spiro, and developer Ana Codina executed major residential transactions in Miami's premium housing market. Sales ranged from $5.2 million to $7.7 million across North Bay Road, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables.
Miami's luxury residential market attracted prominent figures from finance, law, and development in recent high-value transactions totaling nearly $20 million.
French banker Olivier Sarkozy purchased a North Bay Road property for $5.2 million, marking a significant price appreciation from its 2011 sale at $1.5 million. The non-waterfront residence features four bedrooms and four bathrooms across 2,950 square feet on a 0.2-acre lot. Sarkozy, half-brother to former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and previously married to actress Mary-Kate Olsen, was represented by One Sotheby's International Realty agent Lucia Marin.
In Coconut Grove, prominent attorney Alex Spiro completed a $6.3 million sale of his penthouse at Two Park Grove. The 2,600-square-foot condominium at 2821 South Bayshore Drive includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Spiro, a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, represents high-profile clients including Elon Musk, actor Alec Baldwin, and former New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Douglas Elliman agents Daniel Dougherty and Annie De La Rosa handled the listing.
Spiro recently represented Musk in a Securities and Exchange Commission case that resulted in a $1.5 million civil penalty settlement. The SEC had alleged securities law violations related to Musk's acquisition of Twitter, now known as X.
The most expensive transaction involved developer Ana Codina, who sold her Coral Gables home at 5400 Banyan Trail for $7.7 million. The buyer was a company linked to Raysa Fanjul, wife of sugar billionaire Alfonso Fanjul Jr., whose family owns Domino Sugar. The two-story residence spans 6,800 square feet with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms on a one-acre lot, constructed in 2000.
Codina serves as CEO of Coral Gables-based Codina Partners, the development firm established by her father, Armando Codina. Compass agent Ben Moss represented Codina, while Douglas Elliman's Raissa Herrara acted for the purchasing entity.
These transactions reflect continued activity in Miami's premium residential sector, with properties commanding substantial premiums over previous sales prices. The diverse buyer profile includes international finance executives, legal professionals, and established local business families, demonstrating the market's appeal across multiple wealth categories.
